About Sergio Mota

Sergio Luiz Mota is an experienced swim coach and fitness professional with more than 30 years of experience in competitive swimming, athlete development, and performance training. Originally from Brazil, Sergio has worked with swimmers and athletes of all levels, from beginners to collegiate (NCAA) and elite competitors.

As an ASCA Level 5 coach and ISSA Certified Personal Trainer, Sergio is passionate about helping athletes grow through discipline, consistency, and high-quality training both in and out of the water.


Coaching Philosophy

Sergio believes every athlete has different strengths, goals, and ways of learning. His coaching approach focuses on individualized development, technical excellence, and the creation of a positive environment where athletes can build confidence and reach their full potential. By combining technique, biomechanics, and long-term athlete development principles, Sergio helps swimmers improve efficiency, performance, and consistency while developing discipline and a strong work ethic.

In addition to swim coaching, Sergio specializes in strength and conditioning programs designed to improve athletic performance, mobility, and endurance, and to support injury prevention. His training philosophy emphasizes proper movement, functional strength, and long-term physical development. Whether working with competitive athletes or individuals focused on general fitness, Sergio creates structured programs that help clients become stronger, healthier, and more confident in their performance.
